Online Communities

Online communities are changing how organizations generate business

The FundingBox Call for Community Leads

Here at FundingBox, we believe that “online communities” are the way forward for organizations to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and, therefore, the best way to grow and generate business. That is why we are providing a platform, a space where innovators and entrepreneurial communities can thrive. We are also “Calling for community leads”, for people who are insanely interested in something and ready to lead the conversation.

New trends

We are not sure if email’s time is up; we probably believe more that email will become like the printed press in today’s world, but that it will lose ground to new forms and ways to communicate.

If we look at how online communication is evolving, the game changer has been Slack, a cloud-based team communication tool that describes itself as “real-time messaging, archiving and search for modern teams”. Slack has been the fastest-growing business software company ever, hitting a $1 billion valuation within the first 8 months of its existence and the fact that players like Microsoft, Google and Facebook have mimicked it with their own solutions is a clear indication of its importance (funnily enough, if you do a search in Google for Slack, the first thing you get is an ad from Microsoft Teams). However, we are not just talking about teamwork tools to improve efficiency and communications in-house, but solutions to create, develop and strengthen relationships with the outer world, with customers, partners, colleagues and leads.

“At FundingBox, we are committed to fostering the creation of communities built around entrepreneurship, innovators, tech and funding”

Modern players are creating these communities using different solutions. Key ones are Gitter, used by the developer community, Jive for customers, Yammer for work, Discord for gamers, or the previously mentioned Slack; they are used to reinforce relationships, creating hubs, innovation and business. At FundingBox, we are committed to fostering the creation of communities built around entrepreneurship, innovators, tech and funding, and we are providing free software to make it possible. It’s what we call Spaces. Any individual or organization can create her/his own with a topic of preference, invite friends and colleagues, lead the conversation and grow the community. We are creating this ecosystem to start conversations, provide opportunities and valuable information but, above all, to connect great and interesting people.

“We believe the foundation of any business, project or innovation is built on relationships; and we want to see communities thrive.”

What we really want is to get people together, to create synergies, personal matches, professional relationships and much more. We believe the foundation of any business, project or innovation is built on relationships; and we want to see communities thrive.
